As researchers we spend considerable amounts of our academic time engaged in writing grants, carrying out research and writing it up for academic publication with notions of ‘publish or perish’ becoming a way of life. This chapter explores our lived experiences as academic researchers working on a project on gender violence and peace, funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), titled Culture for Sustainable and Inclusive Peace Network Plus (CUSP N+), that united teams of researchers and artists across six countries: Mexico, Palestine, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Morocco and the UK.
